This installation, presented for the 2009 DesCours event in New Orleans, is described in the designers words as below:
Within the boundaries of a New Orleans courtyard, the sky is the window to the external. This installation creates a modular carpet that uses refraction and solar absorption to construct a field of celestial bodies on the ground. The common function of standard construction materials are embedded with meaning: shelter, temporary security, luminescence. By harnessing existing atmospheric elements of light, weather and the traces of a walking crowd, an immersive, ephemeral experience is created.
